Scottish Trip Wrap-up

Royal Dornoch in a drizzle
What can I say? It was a great trip and, surprisingly, we had only one real day of rain at Royal Dornoch – see above picture. Over the next few days I’ll do the best I can to describe what we experienced. First, I’ll cover some general travel tips that might be of help for your own golf vacation to Scotland. Next will be the courses we played, how they stacked up, which ones should be on anyone’s dance card and which can be left out. There will be plenty of pictures. Lastly, I want to talk about accommodations and some of the characters we met.
If you’re fortunate enough to play the courses we did, you will play some of the best golf holes in the world and partake of links scenery that is as spectacular as it gets. These courses don’t take a backseat to any in the world. Scottish links courses are where it all started and the dunes land makes them unique in the world.
I’m happy to report that the Scottish people are wonderfully friendly. The golf course personnel were terrific, except for one course. Wondering which one? I’ll tell you in a couple of days.
