How About a Las Vegas Golf Holiday?
The plan is to head out to Vegas soon for a little gambling, R & R, golf and my wife HAS to see Barry Manilow so the trip is now in the queue.
I have been to Vegas a number of times – mostly to trade shows with former companies I worked with. But I always loved the beauty, weather and energy of the place. I mean, in 10 minutes you can escape the hustle and bustle in be in the desert – not bad.

I am looking to play a few courses while there including: TPC Las Vegas (see photo above): Here’s the description:
There’s a reason TPC Las Vegas has been called “desert elegance.” Designed by Bobby Weed and Raymond Floyd, this 7,063-yard course capitalizes on the beauty of the surrounding mountains and canyons and the glamour of the Las Vegas skyline to make a truly stunning golf course. It’s an excellent choice for any Las Vegas golf trip.
And it may be a little hokey but I really want to try the Royal Links Golf Club . Not sure my wife would appreciate the female caddie program (check the website – only in Vegas!) but I am sure others will! Here is the description:

Missed your invitation to the British Open? Not to worry, Royal Links Golf Club features 18 of the best holes from 11 different the British Open rotation courses. It literally transports golfers back in time to the birthplace of this great game and is one of the most unique playing experiences in the country.
This Links style course faithfully recreates legendary holes such as The Road Hole and Hell Bunker from the old course at St. Andrews and The Postage Stamp from Royal Troon. Other courses in the loop include Carnoustie, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, Prestwick, Royal Lytham, Muirfield and Royal Birkdale.
Caddies are available and recommended as many of the holes are truly Scottish in design and flair, and have deep, hidden bunkers and hazards. Monuments were erected at various points throughout the course indicating spots where great moments in British Open history took place. A Champions Wall is erected near the practice green honoring American champions of the Open.
GolfWorld Top 50 Public CourseThe castle-style clubhouse adds to the atmosphere and includes a golf shop offering Callaway club and FootJoy shoe rentals and is stocked with quality merchandise, art and collectible memorabilia.
Stymie’s Pub is an English tavern serving Isle fare, as well as traditional American favorites. The Royal Links is located less than 20 minutes from the Strip and 15 minutes from Downtown.
Among its many awards, Royal Links was voted one of Golf Magazine’s “Top Ten You Can Play.”
Royal Links is a must-play when in Las Vegas.
So I am definitely looking forward to planning our Vegas trip. Sun, fun golf and casino hopping (maybe even winning some $$$$) – ah the beauty of Las Vegas!
