Peter played the game the way it should be played a balance between all the clubs not a manic big drive contest on every hole.
By all means give golfers who find it hard to play game altering clubs but let's keep the game honest at the top level
Peter and Bobby Locke used their minds to get round a course not just brawn and this angle would help golfers of all handicaps. One doesn't need Trickery to play quality golf....no you don't need gap wedges just run it along the ground....try a 2 wood off a tee oops we dont have them anymore.I asked Peter how to win the British open once he said "down the middle on the green in the hole" good thinking!

Love your blog. Very simple and easy to navigate through.
This post reminds me of a book I recently read and plan on getting for my husband's birthday, "Shooting an Albatross," by Steven R. Lundin. Remember that story? Back in 1943, the only time ever when the US Army took over a golf course in Los Angeles and resulted in an entire season of professional golf getting canceled that year.
