What the Heck Are Bamboo Golf Socks?

I recently came across some very unique golf socks. Yes, golf socks! You might say, “Hey, what’s the big deal, golf socks are golf socks” well, maybe . . or maybe not . . .

The socks are called ecosox and they are produced from bamboo of all things. Somehow the image of bamboo and socks initially didn’t really appeal to me. I just keep thinking of splinters and the hard core of the actual bamboo reed.

Here’s what the site says about the ecosox:

EcoSox are woven bamboo socks produced from bamboo, a natural fiber alternative to cotton, wool, hemp and synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon, which is super soft, moisture wicking, and doesn’t harbor odor. Imagine a bamboo sock that looks good, feels good, and is good for the environment!

I’m always interested in testing new products so I thought I would give them a try. Honestly, wasn’t expecting much. Well, I was pleasantly surprised (and tried real hard not to be)

Anyway, they are super soft (almost silky) which is really the opposite of most golf socks I have which feel like real coarse cloth. Of course, I got used to them because that’s all I had. But once I put these on they had a completely different feel. I’m talking super comfortable.

It’s also super easy to slide in and out of a golf shoe. Again, this might not be a big deal to some golfers but with socks it’s all about the details! Personally, I also love the design.

Additionally, they are moisture wicking. Almost all my other socks used to be soaked in sweat – but not these. Funny, I guess I initially didn’t really notice this until my stepson said he borrowed a pair of my golf ecosox when he went running one day (he is a long-distance runner) and was shocked how wet his sneakers were yet how dry his feet were.

I have now caught myself (I admit it) going straight for the ecosox for every golf round I now play. I like them that much.
