I wanted to do something a little different in a post so I decided to compile a LOT of great content about golfing in Scotland. I had no idea we had this much Scottish golf content!
So if your ever looking to take a Scottish golf trip this might be a good post to look at (and refer to) for research before you embark.
My GolfDash partner, John, returned from a trip recently with tons of good Scottish golf course recommendations, places to stay, how to handle those knarly links conditions and other observations.
Additionally, he has written many other terrific pieces featuring
golf in Scotland so I'll let him take all ...
I have been itching to looking into golfing in Spain since my brother visited it and was wowed by the beauty and hospitality of the country. Oddly enough it's one of the few European countries I have never visited - and being an art buff, too is a major travesty.
And now doing some research, I have found, contrary to it’s reputation as an elite hangout for the rich, it’s actually very affordable. With rates on terrific courses from $41 on up to over $450 to play Valderama, it won't require a
cash advance unless you choose the high end courses. But bargains now abound so do your homework.
One of the ...
Come to Austin for the football, the food, the music and, most certainly, for golf at Horseshoe Bay.
The golf facilities are first class all around from the pro shop, to the practice facilities to the 19th hole. The staff went out of their way to be nice and helpful. Surprisingly the pace of play was excellent for the most part.
If you haven't played golf in Texas you're missing out on courses that have been home to some of the best players on Tour.
I found this article by Mike Palmer on
Liberty National Golf Club and thought you might enjoy it.
"When we hopped out of the golf cart on the second tee, we took in one of the most spectacular views on a golf course I've ever seen – the Statue of Liberty stood right behind the pin. Beyond that, the entire Manhattan skyline.
That's when my friend, David Galland, turned to me and said: "It's just another sign that we're in the declining days of the Empire."
You see, David's had a theory for years that America's extravagances and over-the-top spending are similar to what happened in Rome 1,600 years ago.
It's hard to argue ...
Anytime you play golf in November in New England you consider it an immense gift from the golf gods. And yesterday I and a few friends played the
Crumpin Fox Golf Club on just about a glorious golf day as could be found (temps in lower 70's).
You can see from some of the pics I included that there are not many leaves left on the trees - almost all have fallen. Just a bleak reminder of what's around the corner for us Northern folks - namely that white powdery stuff (and I'm not talking about drugs!)
I DO love this course. It's ...
So my brother is heading on a honeymoon in Spain. I am a wee bit jealous as Spain is, strangely, one of the few countries I have not visited in Europe - why, I'm not exactly sure.
One of my favorites artists, Picasso, of course hails from Spain and my first stop would probably be the
Museu Picasso in Barcelona . I have visited the
Picasso Museum in Paris - and it was just fabulous.
So besides the Picasso museum and a tour of the incredible
Antoni Gaudi architecture in Barcelona - I would HAVE to get in some golf.
One destination that I have heard great things about from my ...
As many of you know my other passion is art and I just love looking at it, producing it and writing about it and now creating DVDs on it. I actually recently completed an DVD called,
An Introductory Guide to Oil Painting Tools and Supplies which was a ton of fun to create, script, shoot, edit and design packaging - yup, all by me.
And when it comes to golf course art - there after seems to be a lot more bad than good. So I was quite surprised when I was made aware of a young golf course architect named ...
The plan is to head out to Vegas soon for a little gambling, R & R, golf and my wife HAS to see
Barry Manilow so the trip is now in the queue.
I have been to Vegas a number of times - mostly to trade shows with former companies I worked with. But I always loved the beauty, weather and energy of the place. I mean, in 10 minutes you can escape the hustle and bustle in be in the desert - not bad.
I am looking to play a few courses while there including:
TPC Las Vegas (see photo above): Here's the description:
There's a reason TPC Las Vegas has ...
