Listen in as Andrew Corley and I discuss everything related to the often misunderstood discipline of Golf Biomechanics. What it is, what it isn’t and how a greater understanding of it can enhance your performance.
Andrew graduated from Auburn University in 2010 with an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. His thirst for knowledge and desire to work with elite athletes lead him to remain at Auburn to obtain a Master’s of Science with a focus in Biomechanics.
As a college athlete, Andrew quickly began to apply his new-found understanding of the body in everyday training and sports. In 2011 he picked up golf, and by 2013, he had found a way to drop from a 17 handicap to a 5 by simply associating his school work with the course work.
Andrew began studying under Joey Diovisalvi in June of 2013. Since his start, he has worked under Joey’s tutelage with professionals of a variety of sports including baseball, tennis, basketball, and golf. He is the lead golf biomechanics instructor at the Joey D Golf Performance Center.
WHO IS JOEY D?
“Coach Joey D” Diovisalvi is an elite expert who has helped revolutionize the methods of improving the golf swing by teaching the body what it needs to do to be great in golf. He discovered and developed his breakthrough techniques on the professional tour. These proven techniques have contributed to over 30 professional victories and countless top ten finishes.
His pioneering work in the field of golf biomechanics helped Vijay Singh rewrite the record books in 2004 and produce the single greatest winning season in golf history: 9 tournament wins; 18 top ten finishes; over $10 million in prize money; and the Number One spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Joey’s resume includes work on the men’s tour with Vijay Singh, Fredrik Jacobson, Rickie Fowler, Keegan Bradley, Richard S. Johnson, Steve Marino, Pat Perez, Jesper Parnevik, Corey Pavin, Charlie Wi, Chris DiMarco, Cameron Tringale, Jason Dufner, Chez Reavie, Ryuji Imada, Tom Pernice, Jr., Brad Faxon and Tommy Armour, III. On the women’s tour, he’s worked with Sophie Gustafson, Alison Walshe, Belen Mozo, and Meaghan Francella.
